Reviews
Well what can one say of a review of 3 stars..it has been a strange and weird evening of both disappointments and surprises.
The food overall is simple, quaint and slightly cowardly.
In no way I’m trying to say the food was bad but it also left quite a lot to be desired.
The homemade focaccia was the star of the show, however both the pasta and risotto where “cowardly” as I mentioned before made a bit too much al dente. It is normal that you’d undercook slightly both given that it continues to cook after it is plated, sadly it was too underdone which left pieces of hard and uncooked pasta and rice in our teeth.
The tasting menu overall does not tell a story and is quite monotone. The presentation of the dishes was good and well curated. The taste however was very earthy and with little good contrast.
The staff is somewhat well prepared and polite, doing their job correctly and to the extent of their capacity.
When asked questions about the produti utilised they had both the goodwill and knowledge to respond.
The environment within the restaurant is pleasant and unassuming, leaving the ambience quite relaxed. In comparison to the inside the immediate surrounding of the restaurant is grim. To give you an example we passed 3 “ladies” selling their services outside the restaurant and a few strange and dodgy men looking at us menacingly, possibly looking after their “lady” employees.
I understand this is not the restaurants fault but location is also part of one’s experience and to charge premium prices(average of 70 per person) usually one is in a ok area (at least) if not in a premium one.
Hope this comment let’s you improve and do better.
Was looking forward to this night but was left with no joyous memories to share.
Best wishes
Ps: hope you don’t feel like I judged you too harshly
Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. My husband and I stumbled upon Ventuno walking home one night. Not having reservations, I was worried we wouldn’t get in; however, to our delight, we were welcomed in to a very warm, inviting atmosphere by the chef himself. We ordered the 5 course tasting menu and each course was divine - thoughtful and creative, not to mention only 55 euro pp. Such a beautiful evening. Highly recommended!!
We had such a lovely night with my parents that I here to celebrate a first weekend together since I became a mum two years ago. The food was surprising, interesting and tasty. Simply exquisite. The team was very kind, high knowledge on their products and great advices given. Grazie mille.
(Review published end of september but google removed it so I am adding it once more)
Very good food and service. They put serious effort in offering glutenfree alternatives. Relaxed atmosphere.
Excellent restaurant! What a good surprise close to the airport, a good place to cope with the usual flights delays ;)
I have passed by and hope to eat here soon. It is in a quiet neighborhood. It looks very nice and close to my friends
Ventuno Bistrot is simply incredible. The experience from start to finish was thoughtful and purposeful, where every dish delivered nuance and intrigue. The cuisine riffs off of a repertoire that includes, among others, the mixtures of traditional and molecular gastronomy, in a way that does not go over board or is underwhelming. Each dish speaks for itself, and does not have any need to show off. We were very surprised at the cost of the 5 dish tasting at 55 euros. After wine and after dinner drinks, all told we came in at 174 euros. Shockingly affordable for a Michelin location. I would recommend going before the word really gets out. Bravo.
Excellent creative clean Florentine inspired cuisine. Stylish but cozy environment. Perfect service. Good job guys.
